On Wednesday I snuck out of the office for a Keigwins track day at Laguna Seca Raceway. What I love about this tricky track is its fast and hilly turns. The weather could not have been nicer and I had a big grin my face all day.
As the saying goes, you can never practice enough. Last week I spent two days at Sonoma Raceway training on my Aprilia Tuono RSV4. This year I have mostly ridden open track days but as a result I have fallen into some bad riding habits…so two days back in school really helped work out some kinks in my riding technique. I have four track days scheduled at both Sonoma Raceway and Laguna Seca over the next six weeks which I am very excited and a bit nervous about. You can’t beat California Superbike School for learning how to ride safe and fast.
Track days always get my blood boiling. I always feel very much alive at the end of a successful day. What started out as an excuse for being too lazy to ride my road bicycle has turned into these past five years – a disease.
A few weeks back I was able to break away for a short trip to the north east corner of California. I rode close to three hundred miles over two days in this rugged volcanic land. All I can say is that I can’t wait to get back out there for a much longer adventure.
